Because excellence comes with its own history... The International Conference Center was first built in April 1991 as part of the growing event industry in Costa Rica. To this very day, it is the leader in hosting congresses and conventions in the whole country and is one of the most outstanding locations in all of Central America.
It has been the host of the most celebrated and prestigious events in the country for each of the past 18 years. Presidential summits for the region and Western Hemisphere, summits put on by the Organization of American States (OAS), a gala dinner to celebrate the visit of then-President Bill Clinton, world-renowned artistic and orchestra affairs, and conventions bringing together major organizations and heads of state.
The International Convention Center is endowed with eight executive halls with the capacity to hold approximately 1,900 people. It employs the most advanced technology and tools, such as simultaneous interpretation services, laser beams for special effects, a self-lifting stage, and other trailblazing methods that make the Center the first to muster up all the technology, space, and experience to be able to house international-quality events and conferences.
The 1,188 square meters in the elegant Salón La Paz can be transformed into five different halls with the most pioneering audiovisual conference equipment. The complex also houses the Salón Las Américas, bestowed with 238.50 square meters divided into three smaller halls that can be used for smaller-scale meetings or administrative or executive endeavors.
There are also two spacious lobbies: one in front of the Salón La Paz and the other in front of Salón Las Américas. When joined with the fresh air terrazas, the support staff space, and pavilions, they offer an additional space to register attendees, hold cocktail gatherings and parties, set up displays, and make use of the dressing rooms, reception area, and exhibition spaces.
There are two main entries to the International Conference Center, as shown on the attached map. There are also four emergency exits throughout the center and a special entry for equipment and furnishings.
